NBA Schedule Information

The NBA schedule is released in August, and each team's 82 games are typically spread out over nine weeks. During the first week of the season, all 30 teams play four games. In subsequent weeks, every team plays two or three games. The schedule is balanced so that each team plays an equal number of home and away games.

NBA Postseason Information

First-round playoff series are played in a best-of-seven format, with each team playing each other once at home and once on the road. If a seventh game is necessary, it is played on a neutral court. Conference Semifinals and Conference Finals are also played in a best-of-seven format. 

The NBA Finals is the championship series of the playoffs and is contested between the winners of the Eastern and Western Conference Finals. The series is played in a best-of-seven format and is held annually.
